Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TopoChain Designer, operated by Gifted Laboratory Co., Ltd. (株式会社ギフテッドラボラトリー) ("we," "us," or "our") at https://topochain.giftedlabs.io. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service description

TopoChain Designer is a web-based inverse-design tool for a synthetic one-dimensional topological hopping-chain model. The service provides closed-form design, optional finite-chain numerical verification, and downloadable HTML reports. Results are intended to support theoretical and computational exploration of the documented model.

2. Intended use

You may use TopoChain Designer for research, education, and related non-production purposes. The service is not intended for real device design, manufacturing decisions, clinical use, safety-critical systems, or general material or metamaterial optimization. You are responsible for evaluating whether outputs are appropriate for your use case.

3. Credit system

Access to certain features requires prepaid credits.
There is no subscription; purchases are one-time credit packs.
Purchased credits do not expire while your account remains active, unless otherwise required by law or stated at purchase.
Credit costs for core actions (design, verification, reports) are displayed in the application and may be updated with reasonable notice.
Credits have no cash value and are non-transferable except as we expressly allow.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with other users or infrastructure.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the API, circumvent credit billing, scrape or overload the service, reverse engineer proprietary components except where permitted by law, or use the service unlawfully. We may rate-limit or block abusive traffic.

6. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, error-free results, or fitness for a particular purpose. Scientific outputs depend on model assumptions and finite-size effects documented in the product.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gifted Laboratory Co., Ltd. (株式会社ギフテッドラボラトリー) shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or research outcomes arising from use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8. Changes and contact

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Gifted Laboratory Co., Ltd. (株式会社ギフテッドラボラトリー) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use TopoChain Designer. We aim to comply with applicable privacy laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA.

2. Information we collect

Account data: email address and authentication credentials managed through Supabase Auth when you register or sign in.
Usage and service data: design requests, credit balance, transaction history, and logs needed to operate and secure the service.
Payment data: purchases are processed by Stripe. We receive payment status, customer identifiers, and purchase metadata. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and similar data collected in server logs for security and reliability.

3. How we use information

Provide, authenticate, and maintain your account
Process credit purchases and record credit usage
Operate, debug, and improve the service
Respond to support requests and legal obligations
Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where GDPR applies, we process personal data on the bases of: (a) contract performance (providing the service you request); (b) legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement); (c) legal obligation; and (d) consent where required (for example, non-essential cookies or marketing, if offered).

5. Processors and sharing

We use trusted service providers to operate TopoChain Designer, including Supabase (authentication and database), Stripe (payments), and hosting providers. These processors handle data only on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

6. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

7. Retention

We retain account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion subject to legal retention requirements.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is consent-based; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise rights, contact topochain@giftedlabs.io. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Children

TopoChain Designer is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.

Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to credit pack purchases for TopoChain Designer from Gifted Laboratory Co., Ltd. (株式会社ギフテッドラボラトリー).

1. Consumed credits

Credits that have been consumed (used for designs, verification, or reports) are non-refundable. Consumption is recorded in your account transaction history.

2. Unused credits

If you purchased credits in error or no longer wish to use the service, you may request a refund of unused credits only within seven (7) days of the original purchase date. Refunds are issued to the original payment method where possible, minus any credits already used.

3. How to request a refund

Email topochain@giftedlabs.io from the address associated with your account. Include your purchase date, approximate amount, and reason for the request. We will respond within a reasonable time, typically within five (5) business days.

4. Exceptions

We may decline refunds in cases of abuse, chargeback fraud, violation of the Terms of Service, or where required by payment network rules. Nothing in this policy limits mandatory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

5. Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback so we can resolve the issue. Accounts associated with fraudulent chargebacks may be suspended.
